THE ACTOR

ABOUT

Introducing Kevin Crispin . . .

Kevin Crispin is originally from Monticello, IL. He is an actor, writer, podcaster, mental health advocate, and writer of short bios.

In 2004, he graduated from Southern Illinois University with a BA in Theatre. For the few years after graduation, he traveled the country as an actor and theater technician. Briefly settling down in Chicago in 2007, he ventured out on the road once more in 2008. After the Financial Crisis, he returned to Chicago and was lucky to fall in with the wonderful theater scene there. By 2012, he found himself in the corporate space, where he worked for over a decade as a customer support manager, a local and global project manger, a senior operations manager, and the chief of staff of a national veterinarian company.

In 2017, Kevin wrote, produced, and performed a one man show called Invisible Now. The show was about his lifelong struggles with anxiety. His hope was to share his weird and frightening experiences, poking fun at himself whenever possible.

After leaving the corporate space to pursue his performing and public speaking, he has also hosted a mental health podcast called “SAD TIMES ”. Each week, Kevin welcomes a kind, generous guest who shares stories from their lives: when they were sad, upset, angry. Difficult stories are universal, but are not universally told. The goal of the podcast is to help people feel less alone: Both those who listen, and the tellers of the stories.

As an actor, he’s known for his truthful, grounded performances and dedication. He believes any day that includes creativity is a worthwhile day. As a theatrical artist, he focuses on collaboration and joy. He especially loves working on pieces that challenge the way we think and implore us to lean into empathy.

He believes in kindness, he believes in humor.
